We are looking for an experienced Harvest/Road Engineering Forester to join our team. This is a diverse, hands-on role with the primary focus on Harvest and Road Engineering Project Management.

North Island Operations Manager

Due to internal promotion, we have a position available for a highly capable and self-motivated Operations Manager for our North Island operations. This position will be mainly based in our Weber/Dannevirke operations but required travel to our other operations at times. You will be responsible for the oversight of operations and activities of all logging crews with an annual cut of 350,000 cubic metres.

As the Operations Manager your key responsibilities include:
Work with and provide assistance to our Crew Managers and crews to assist/coach them in their daily and forward operational plans.
Inspire, lead, motivate and act as a trusted advisor to Crew Managers and ensure they are completing assigned plans and hitting set targets.
Carry out operational and health and safety audits.
Manage day to day issues that may arise with personnel and machinery, assisting and making decisions to reach solutions in a timely manner.
Accept Health & Safety of all Northern operations as a core responsibility and drive excellent safety standards and initiatives.
Develop and maintain trusted relationships with our customers and suppliers.
Assist with the human resource management of staff inclusive of recruitment and performance reviews.
Oversee our preventative maintenance programme to maximise uptime in a financially responsible manner.
To be successful in this role you will have:
A solid background in cable harvesting and a sound working knowledge of logging crews and their operational needs with the ability to carry out an operational audit.
A good working knowledge of sufficient, comprehensive and effective forward harvest plans.
Supervisor and/or management level experience.
A good understanding and passion for NZ health and safety legislation and standards and the ability to carry out H&S audits.
It will be to your advantage if you have:
Maintenance/mechanical experience inclusive of preventative maintenance programmes.
