This is a rare opportunity for a Maintenance Manager to join our Tumbarumba site on a full-time basis. This position reports to the Site Manager and will provide innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability and productivity along with coaching and mentoring your team to deliver successful solutions for our plant.

The successful person will have the following
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor staff in a multi-skilled team and in a manufacturing plant.
Demonstrated experience in reliability centered maintenance processes, application of root cause analysis and elimination, maintenance budgets and computer maintenance management systems.
Trade qualified in electrical or mechanical discipline or associated field.
Significant experience in safety management practices and implementation.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or TPM type methodology.

Using specialist logistics software developed in-house, as a key member of the logistics team, you will primarily:
coordinate and schedule harvesting contractors and logging trucks to uplift loads, thinking about best overall utilisation of the fleet and minimum cost of distribution, solving problems that occur along the way
monitoring and reporting on production, inventory and delivery targets, negotiating with suppliers and customers to do the extra yards and meeting them in the field when issues demand direct communications.
The successful candidate will:
ideally have 2-3 years’ experience in the logistics, transport or forestry industry. We will consider graduates with the x-factor that have a relevant tertiary qualification in one of the following; Forestry, Agricultural Science and Commerce, Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Transport or Business studies.

Log Logistics is a log trucking dispatch provider for the Otago and Southland regions. We use state of the art Asset Forestry Logistics software to help co-ordinate the daily dispatch of trucks in the most productive manner.
We are currently seeking a driven and self-motivated individual to join our small and dynamic team. You will be dispatching or planning the dispatch of 50-60 logging trucks on a daily basis. This role involves matching trucks to stocks held in the forest awaiting collection, liaising with both harvesting contractors and truck drivers to maintain an efficient flow of trucks and ensuring the best overall utilisation of the fleet, whilst also dealing with operational situations and changes that can occur at any stage during the day. The role also includes monitoring and accurate reporting of production stocks, uplift per day, and meeting contractual delivery targets.
This is a busy role, and the successful candidate will ideally have:
Well-developed interpersonal and time management skills and the ability to handle unpredictable and changing situations
Must be “computer savvy” with the ability to multi task multiple screens while answering incoming calls throughout the day
Enjoy problem solving, and have the ability to work and cope with high pressure situations
Have a good geographical understanding of driving times and distances across the Otago/Southland region
Enjoy fast paced, ever developing daily planning, scheduling, co-ordinating and tasking
